Loch and I now plan to leave at 2.30 and possibly do a little exploring at the far (east) end of Barkers Crags before returning to Scot Crag

PS I suppose I really should have said W. H for “Wishing and Hoping” so I’ll have to trust that the Dusty Springfield fan club won’t throw me out.

Todays MWIS forecasts came out at 12.10 and now of course extend to Saturday.
They predict a sustained thaw and major snow loss on Scottish hills.
There is a glimmer of hope for the northern Lake District on Friday.

The Cairngorms forecast for Saturday is winds up to 90mph, very soggy owing to snow melt, and low cloud. So it should be a very empty day in Sneachda.
In the West Highlands, it gets worse , with the very high winds plus:
    “Rain; rarely ceasing
Incessant rain and snowmelt making it very
wet underfoot with streams and rivers in
    spate; some flooding.”

My wife and I go on holiday from 15th to 23rd so I suppose there may be a chance the succeeding 2 weekends will bring good weather !!

I agree it will be a good idea if drivers can share their plans on this thread….. better if no-one has to drive up solo !
Dolly and I will be travelling up, with the possibility of Loch in my car too. If there is a good forecast for Friday, we are free to travel on Thursday evening.
Very fluid just at the moment of course. “Countryfile” tomorrow may tell us more.
