SpectatorI would like to mention again what great value this is. The net cost assuming we fill all 12 places is only £75. This is little more than half what it can normally cost. Given our type of activity and locations, plus reports now of extened ambulance response times, it increasingly feels essential to have some up to date first aid knowledge.if anyone can take up Jenny’s place please hurry along. We will need to offer any vacant slots to other clubs over this weekend

SpectatorIf you have signed up for a place on the First aid course could you please make sure that your deposit of £100 is transferred to the Club account in the next few days.
Tom asked for deposits by 9th August: I am picking this up in his absence this week hoping to gain a day or two. We have the instructor “hanging on” with the date pencilled in, but still waiting to hear from us that deposits are paid so that his booking can be made definite.
So may I please ask those few Members who have not yet paid the deposit, to do so in the near future. It will be a great kindness to a haggard old man, if all deposits can be finalised within a few days, so that the Instructor can be engaged before I go away on Sunday 28th.
with grateful thanks

SpectatorI imagine we could fry eggs at Scuggie or Park Nab so running for cover seems best. See you tomorrow, although somewhat later into the evening. Andrew

SpectatorI hope you have a good day out Caroline. Just an apology from me as I cannot join this. I will be in the middle of doing a few gays on the GR5 south of Geneva.

SpectatorI’m sure you are on the right lines with Cyclops. Cubic Block is deeply unsatisfactory for novice groups because of the top exit /slither. Some years ago many of us with papers helped at abig event which those in charge decided to lower off the Cubic routes. I thought that was not a good experience for the schoolchildren involved. It is possible to suggest an alternative agenda around Lovers Leap eg Lichen Slab / Lost Corner / Cracked Corner / Difficult Crack however the Cyclops area is surely better for management of several routes in a compact area.
