SpectatorNathan is the Chief of Whatsapp, so no doubt he will see this and add you, Adam. The normal form for Thursday evenings has been to nominate a crag on the Forum (usually Scugdale/ Slipstones / Almscliff / Brimham ). and maybe arrange lifts. Day trips and weekends are most commonly arranged “ad hoc”.
After climbing on Thursdays, it was the custom for decades (literally) to adjourn to the pub in York. This was a valuable time for people to chat and make future plans, joined perhaps by folk who had not been out that evening. However in recent years attendances at the Knavesmire were low, as people have simply gone home. In the winter of 2019-20 we got more attendance by trying pubs local to Harrogate Wall, and intended to try others local to the outdoor venues. So this question will crop up again as Thursdays resume.
On the one hand, if 12 or so have just been climbing, it’s easy to slip into a local pub for a swift one, and helpful for Members who don’t live in York. Conversely, a prescence in the city makes us accessible to non-climbers, social climbers, and prospective new members. A dilemma.

SpectatorAs discussed, unfortunately we are booked to be away in Oban in late May, (God willing)

SpectatorThis is a great resource book to have. The List is quite arbitrary in some parts, but it is a means to the exploration of much (not all) of the fascinating Highlands.
Keep a record of what you do. Dates, names, weather. As your mountain days rise into the hundreds, it will become an invaluable personal treasure trove.ANDREW

SpectatorThanks to Nick for being MC /Quizmaster in an amusing session, and to Tenk for “the knowledge” underpinnings. Cheers everyone for a very enjoyable evening and here’s hoping that all the different wishes we discussed for 2021 will come to pass.
Merry Christmas.

SpectatorApparently no area has been placed into either the highest (4) or lowest (0) Tier. Which means that the current 2 households outdoors limit will continue, unless some of the highlands gets into Tier 0 in the future
