ModeratorReally good news from Harrogate. Despite recent price rises our discounted rates at Parthian will remain as they were.

ModeratorThe weather’s set to improve this afternoon. I think, however, that the local crags will be damp and the ground will be wet after the recent rain. Probably best to stay indoors at Harrogate Wall.
I’m not going to be climbing today since I’m optimistically heading to Scotland in the morning. Please post on WhatsApp or here if you’re hoping to climb anywhere today or over the weekend.
Also note that Harrogate Wall are holding an open climbing competition day on the 3rd of September. The email is attached below.

Members who are not regularly kept up to date with first aid training are strongly recommended to maintain a basic proficiency and this course, at the discounted rate, is another big bonus of club membership.
The 16 hour course is enjoyable, not dependent on weather, practical and covers many aspects of first aid in the mountaineering environment including updates to personal equipment available, technology and advice on how to prevent or deal with a medical emergency. Some elements of the course which may help you save a life are simple and obvious but you may not have previously considered.
Last year we ran the course in December with 12 people and an instructor at Heslington, York for a cost of £75 each. We would like to do the same again.
Please, if you are interested in joining the course later this year, get in touch with Andrew either directly or via this forum. We need more numbers to express an interest by the end of this week or the course may not run.
