Hi all,
Over the weekend of 5th to the 7th of July our club has booked exclusive use of the K-Fellfarers bunkhouse, High House at Seathwaite in Borrowdale http://highhouseborrowdale.co.uk/.
There are 26 beds available, the location is fantastic and the Chairman will be doing his best to guarantee the best possible weather. The facilities are all shown if you check out the link above. It is likely that with a good attendance, a communal meal will be provided and shared on Saturday evening, perhaps testing backwoods skills on the open fire pit.
This venue is in huge demand and gives perfect access to climbing, walking, scrambling, mountain biking, wild swimming, running and photography. We can probably add several more things to the list but the nearest pub is a couple of miles down the road. Needless to say, it will be a great weekend away for anyone in our club.
I am away until the end of April. If you are interested in coming please post here on the forum (not WhatsApp). Don’t pay yet but the total cost per person for the weekend will be outstanding value at £24. There are already a few club members on the list (those that have helped and organised events), however, there are still plenty of spaces and will be allocated in date/time of booking order. I will confirm payment details and places when I am back in the office.
Car sharing is always the best option for travel so nearer the time we can try to coordinate lifts for those that don’t drive. We may also look for a volunteer or two to help with the food/fire. Also note that camping is not permitted at the bunkhouse but there is a campsite very close by at Seathwaite https://seathwaitefarmcamping.co.uk/ and can be organised on an individual basis.
