    In this case, there is no “bargain” as I get nowt out of arranging this. It is very simply an opportunity. You can obtain training which ought to be regarded as essential for outdoor activities, at about half the cost which you would incur as an individual. To recap on previous years, we need a minimum of 7 names who are definitely up for it, and we’ll then try to find a weekend when all are available. At that point, its money down and we book the provider.

    My plans have been changed and I shall be spending the afternoon and evening in Leeds to meet my new grandchildren Noah and Isabel.
    But I will be in the Fox to mark their arrival in this world.

    Loch and I are driving down on Saturday morning. I am staying Saturday night but Loch has to get home, so we’ll be in separate cars. Anyone else wanting a lift on Saturday ?

    Alas for yoof !!
    I should mention, tho’ that I think most of my visits to Slipstones were made after work when I used to do that sort of thing.
    My road map and bendy wire think that York to Slipstones is about 3 miles less than York to Scugdale.
    I will see what the car records…… and report in t’Fox
