Sadly the latest forecast at lunchtime makes it clear that whilst it may be dry at 5, the rain will reach Scugdale by about 7.30, thus putting the kibosh on climbing.
So it’ll have to be Harrogate.
Loch is calling for me at 4.20. Dan we can meet you at Fox at 4.40-ish before calling for Steve.

I have been away since early on Monday but just watched the TV weather.
BBC national says it will be pretty dramatic in Oxford at breakfast time tomorrow, but a lovely morning in Yorkshire. Sadly, Look North has the thundery rain reaching Selby just about 5pm, so it looks as though it will sweep north just when we want to climb.
It may still be worth keeping this under review, just in case the rain front moves more slowly than they expect.

Well this doesn’t look very decisive up till now !!
Loch tells me he has a bad back, and can’t play out, so for selfish reasons of my personal convenience, I am tempted to suggest Almscliff again. (Knowing that the anti-Almscliff faction is holed below the waterline tonight). But if anyone else has better ideas …….. ????

“Age shall not wither her, nor custom stale
    her infinite variety”
Shakespeare claimed to be writing about Cleopatra, although recent research suggests that he probably took up rock climbing for a time in the early 1600s as part of the research for the “dizzy heights” scene in Lear, so these lines may well relate to the Bard’s visit to Almscliffe.
