SpectatorThe forecast this afternoon for mountains east of the A9 on Saturday is not unreasonable, whilst in the Lake District on Saturday, the weather will be rather better for readers of Lakes Weatherline than for MWIS readers. However the remnants of Hurricane Gert seemingly intend to soak all mountain areas on Sunday……. but that forecast could change. Thus Dolly and I are leaving things 24 hours. Might end up with a Lakes Day though I’d still prefer to get away to Scotland.

SpectatorSo after a couple of conversations last night, there are half a dozen potential names in the frame to join Dolly and myself next weekend, although no doubt fate and other temptations will whittle these down.
This is just to say that as usual, the time for a decision will be Wednesday afternoon once the MWIS forecast shows us the picture up to Saturday, and at that point we’ll try to book bunkhouse spaces.
.I cannot leave before Friday afternoon, but if weather is fair Dolly and I intend to have Monday on the hill and return Monday night.
I’ll not be around next Thursday as I’ll be at a wedding instead.

SpectatorWell the lunchtime TV is clearly more discouraging than it was this time yesterday, so unless Angela and I are met by a broad area of warm sunshine as we drive along the A59, I think we’ll be arriving at Harrogate Wail around 5.40 pm
