Well of course we always defer a departure time to suit work commitments… (my own latest having been 20.30 one Friday) but it won’t be a climbing trip given the weather. Enjoy all

Dolly and I are heading north accordingly this afternoon. (Places in car…..) Likely Glenshee rather than Glencoe, but half a loaf is better than none.

Yesterday the language around (remains of) Hurricane Gert altered subtly between the teatime weather and late night version — looks now as though it will arrive late on Sunday instead of making the whole day a wash-out. This morning’s MWIS said ” A transient ridge of high pressure will bring improved conditions later Saturday and into Sunday across all areas.”
I continue to harbour my hopes.

The forecast this afternoon for mountains east of the A9 on Saturday is not unreasonable, whilst in the Lake District on Saturday, the weather will be rather better for readers of Lakes Weatherline than for MWIS readers. However the remnants of Hurricane Gert seemingly intend to soak all mountain areas on Sunday……. but that forecast could change. Thus Dolly and I are leaving things 24 hours. Might end up with a Lakes Day though I’d still prefer to get away to Scotland.
