Thanks for putting this trip together, Oli

I am planning to leave York early morning on Friday to get a full day in. Currently have 3 spots in my car on the way out and 2 on the way back on Sunday afternoon – please contact me directly if you would like a lift in either direction.

Aspirations – I would love to do some of the easier classic climbs around the Napes etc, although I would be happier to second as my experience leading is fairly limited. Would also be happy with scrambling / bagging any of the high fells accessible from the club hut.

    Thanks
    Oli

Thanks for organising the trip Oli

My aim is to drive up on the Friday morning to hopefully get some climbing in on the Friday. I have room for 2 people if anyone needs a lift up.

My climbing aspirations are easy multipitch routes on pikes crag and pillar rock weather permitting

Looking forward to the weekend very much

    Hi all,
If anyone is leaving after work on Friday and returning Sunday evening could I please grab a lift?
I’m not staying over so will get a lift to Keswick (or similar on route) where Mike will pick me up.
Mike and I will meet you at the Hutt first thing Saturday morning.
    Totally weather dependent plans.
I’m leading easy grades. Keen to explore Piers Gill Crag (single pitch to start) and Pikes Crag Pulpit Rock.

Hello, I will be arriving O crack sparrow (8am) on Saturday morning as it is small boy’s birthday on the Friday. I was worried you all might have left the hut by then but I forgot to allow for Matt and Dave to have a coffee and an egg butty so hopefully my timing will be spot on. MY ideal weekend is lovely chilled multi-pitch v diffs with big wide belay ledges for a picnic – preferably with a large rock or a tree to get a sling around. No wind or rain, mo midges. Nice finish (maybe with a few stars) and a gentle walk off avoiding using ropes, scree slopes and brambles. 😀

Hi everyone, here’s hasty update 3:

The FRCC hut warden has asked for confirmation of spare spaces in our booking, so it seems like other people are trying to book in too. We’ve got 12 on our list for the hut (Dave C, Sam, Lucas, Jenny, Me, Emma W, Matt D, Rose, Dan S, Dave M, Ewart, Oli T) which I’ll confirm with the FRCC on Friday night.

There are 17 attendees including day trippers and those making their own accommodation plans. I’ll ask the warden about whether we can cater in the hut for everyone but that might not be possible.

Those of you that have posted travel plans, thanks! These teams seem to shake out of the mix:
Rose can you take Jenny, Tracey (via Keswick) and Wes on Friday evening?
Oli T can you take me, Sam and Dan S on Friday morning?
Dave C and Matt D departing possibly even earlier in the week.
Emma W departing about 4.30 on Saturday to arrive at breakfast.

We’ll sort out return journey timing and car sharing during the weekend.

Lucas, Dave M and Ewart haven’t posted about travel plans. There are two extras that might want to car share as well, Neil D and Peter T.

Rose, thanks for offering to pick up some vegetable matter for the curry but don’t worry I’ll sort that. Keeps it simpler and no risk of everyone bringing cauliflower.
