    I’m up for heading out on Saturday too. It’d be nice yo do something different to helvellyn though… (done it so many times!).

    hmm. saturday freezing level above summits but 70% chance of clear summits. sunday freezing level at 750m to 900m but only 20% chance cloud free summits

    Aaaargh !! There is now a big conflict between the lunchtime BBC and the MWIS at 12.03 today. BBC thinks it will be pretty rainy everywhere on Saturday, whereas MWIS now forecasts a fairly cloudy day in Lakes, better in Dales with 90% cloud free summits. What to do ???
    For me, I’ll go out Saturday not Sunday because my missis is away tomorrow and in any case the MWIS for Sunday is much gloomier.
    However beginning to think that I don’t want to invest 4.5 hours driving for a showery Lakes day. So maybe a shorter run to the Dales means that if the BBC is right, I’ll just have a short day, tea and scone, and home

    Doctor Steve Murray has cured my indecision by informing me that “It is definitely a Dales day” so I’ll be putting my thinking cap on for Dales ideas
