SpectatorIf anyone else would like to join Steve Green’s Munro “Compleation” and party in Killin on Saturday 5th October, here is an opportunity for accommodation which would be good to grasp. His Compleation will be on Meal nan Taramachan, which (as prudent Munroists do) is an easy choice of mountain in case of poor weather — but it also has a somewhat scrambly ridge running west from the summit which provides a nice excursion when it is fine.
Killin has no campsite and no “budget” hostel, so it is a very difficult place for beds unless you have a camper van. Six of us have booked a cottage at Kinnel Farm which is {reputedly} just a half mile stagger from the pub. The lady has just told me that the second – smaller- cottage has become available (because a long let tenant has moved out). The smaller cottage has 1 x king size double, I single bedroom, and i single bed on the landing. (=3 beds) and so it will sleep up to 4 people.
The cost would be £60 per night for the whole cottage — very user-friendly !!
So if any three or 4 folks not already booked, fancy a hillgoing weekend and a celebration of 281 other summits, you can get together and ring Kay on 07773 197974

We could squeeze in a fifth. Can I pick you up near Huntington Road roundabout Lea ? around 4.35
(Unless there is more space in another car ?)

SpectatorBest plan is to park in National Trust car park and then if you don’t see anyone right away, make a phone call. I’ve never known any phone problem at Brimham. Many Members’ numbers are on the Members List.
We had a big start at Cubic Block about 3 weeks ago so might be further up this evening

SpectatorIt will be best to fill cars as much as possible owing to limited parking at Scugdale. I will be leaving at 4.30 -4.45 with Loch, Angela & Steve G.

SpectatorI am hoping to be in the hills in the second half of next week and maybe into the weekend. Priority is Scotland and Mr Green’s last few Munros to be gathered in; but depending on events…………..
