ModeratorThis Thursday is the first of the month so we’ll be heading to the Knavesmire pub after climbing at Harrogate wall, the red goat or elsewhere. I’ll be at the Knavesmire at about 8pm. I’m aiming to start early at Harrogate, probably 5pm before dashing over to the pub.
All club members, new, old and potential are most welcome to come along. Membership cards for 2022 will be issued to paid up members so if you haven’t paid yet, please do so ASAP.
Hot topic for discussion will be the winter weekend. The pub offers a great opportunity for sharing ideas, matching up potential groups with corresponding aims and working out travel, room share and food arrangements. Also where there is a shortfall of equipment there may be a chance of borrowing gear from another club member.
Hope to see a big turnout at the pub. The wall has seen a very good show from club members for several weeks now and there were a dozen walkers out on Sunday. The Knavesmire this week offers a perfect chance to meet other members, maybe for the first time and to begin sharing ideas for the the year ahead.
Cheers! See you there, Dave M

ParticipantHi Dave,
Sounds like a plan for Thursday. I will probably try and stay local and head to Energise in YORK to do some ropes if anyone is keen. Otherwise I’ll head to the goat and meet you in the Knavesmire after.

SpectatorHi Dave,
Unfortunately I won’t be at the Knavesmire as I’m away this week. So here’s my input to the winter weekend…I’ll be travelling up by car but sharing opportunities may be limited as I’m driving from Sleights. Happy to drive people around when there though if needed.
I haven’t got any equipment I can loan out I’m afraid. With regards to the weekend, I was hoping to get some climbing done but we will see what conditions are like. I don’t mind taking people up climbs if they’ve never winter climbed before but only as “mates” i.e. happy to give guidance but this is NOT instruction/professional guiding.
Cheers, Paul -
