    Folks
Having viewed the prevailing forecast weather conditions, travel reports, and looked out of the window, the Vice chair and myself have concluded that organising travel to Harrogate Wall this evening might be considered unwise and would urge our fellow York MC members to be equally cautious. We should try to leave the roads free for essential travel and emergency services. (we are not going climbing tonight). My suggestion if you really need to “Feed the Rat” would be to select a walkable destination (eg Red Goat) – or sit tight and wait till the weekend.

I may take a stroll on the Knavesmire later… and possibly make a delicate traverse to the Pub later … but I think it is incumbent on us to be just a little bit sensible tonight.

I am looking at getting across to the Wall possibly Saturday afternoon if anyone is interested.

    Be safe out there

    Matthew.

Thank you for this Matthew, I agree with the decision and that everyone should stay safe and only travel if its an necessary.

I may head out this weekend but will be keeping it local.

    Regards
    Penny

Good decision! I would be up for some climbing on Saturday. Perhaps we should build a huge snowman/snowwoman on the Knavesmire?

It was horrible outside this morning. Now it’s 5h30m later and things don’t look so bad any more.

There’s no particular traffic jams showing (on Google or TomTom maps) in the York/Harrogate area. The road outside my house is not only clear, it’s mostly dry.

There’s no more snow forecast for today. Rain cloud prediction animations show nothing coming our way until midnight.

I’ve just been on the phone to Harrogate wall, and they’re open as usual, main roads in Harrogate are fine, just like they seem to be here in York.

So… I’m up for going, if anyone else is. Subject to a last-minute check of the weather and roads.

    Aaron.

I can’t make it tonight but should be OK for next week.
    Saturday sounds a good plan.
