First of all a big thank you to everyone that has joined or re-joined York MC for 2026. We are starting the year with over 60 members. There are still a few people who may have forgotten to pay their subs so if you intend to stay with the club please check your account and pay up asap. Payment by bank transfer is preferred and the club bank details are on WhatsApp.
For those that are moving on and not re-joining I would like to thank you for your support over the year(s) and wish you all the best for the future.
More trips for this year are being planned and the Events & Notices Page is the easiest place to check for upcoming trips, social events, useful or perhaps seasonal information. Details of trips and events will be shown here with details added to the forum when the organiser has a drafted a plan.
This week will start with a Red Goat session on Tuesday evening at about 5pm. The committee will be gathering for pizza after climbing and will be having the first committee meeting of the year. Did Charley say “don’t meet on an empty stomach”?
Thursday will be club climbing at Harrogate Wall. There will be a great gaggle of about 25 youngsters at the wall between 6:30 and 7:30. They are on an instructional course and will hopefully not interfere too much with normal climbing. I will be at the wall by 5 and will head over to the Fox for 8pm. It’s the first Thursday of the month so we hope to see a good turnout at the pub. If you want to share plans, lifts or borrow equipment for Aviemore then this could be a good place to start asking.
The weather for the weekend is looking a bit drab again. If anyone has plans to go indoor climbing or anything outdoors if there’s a window of opportunity please post here or more likely, on WhatsApp.
