It’ll be a standard pattern to the week. A few climbing outdoors on Tuesday but the Red Goat will be where I’m heading at about 5pm. Social climbing session and a pizza afterwards for me.
Thursday will be Harrogate Wall. 5pm start for those that can get there early and more joining as the evening progresses. New members are most welcome and encouraged to come along and meet the club. Let us know if you need any help or have any questions about starting to climb.
Charley is still looking to fill a few more places on the First Aid Course. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to join the course. We run it at a very cost-effective rate, not for profit, so it’s well worth taking advantage of this 16 hour, practical, non-exam course in Heslington,York.
There is a committee meeting early next month. If you have any burning questions or sensible suggestions for discussion at the committee meeting please let Derek W, your secretary, know and he may add it to the agenda. Club membership has increased over the last few years and although we are incredibly active we need to consider how best to encourage more of our current members to get involved and in what way. The Club AGM is on Thursday the 26th of November and we hope to see a decent turnout from all members. Despite the formal sound to the meeting it’s a very social event. More information about venue and timings will be posted soon.
Winter Weekend and other trips are being planned for next year. There seems to be an appetite for weekend trips and we aim to accommodate as many people as possible. Note that all trips are open to walkers as well as climbers. It is not essential that you wear a harness and helmet and carry a rack of gear every time the club goes away. The most important thing is that you join in, meet people, enjoy yourself and go home looking forward to your next trip. Please keep an eye out for dates being announced.
Cheers!
