Last September I expressed my wish to lay down the Chairmanship at the 2020 AGM; however I agreed to remain until the spring (as you may recall).
Now that Spring is sprung and grass is ris, I think it’s time to return to the idea. We have just held the April Committee meeting and the Committee have agreed that for the balance of this year John McEvoy and I will exchange roles. So from now, John is Chairman and I am Vice-Chair.
The running of the Club is a team effort of 8 people as a Committee. This enables different age ranges and strands of interest to be represented. As vacancies on the Committee arise, through a 3-yearly rotation, the club depends on Members being willing to help on the Committee in turn.
We have stuck together to keep the club going through an extremely difficult period. We will all hope that the escape and recovery can be sustained this summer/autumn, and that Club activities can be restored to the enjoyment of everyone. John and the Committee as a whole are keen to promote a variety of initiatives for club activities consistent with the opening up of social rules, and there will shortly be more info about how the Club will move forwards now.
