Last Thursday in the Knavesmire I got into a discussion with some regulars on a table near where our group were sitting – in particular they felt their space had been encroached upon (they’d shuffled up several times as our group grew) and now found themselves unable to easily get out of their seats/table. I was asked to pass on their views to the group. This is a gentle request to us all to be mindful of anyone already sitting in/nearby when we arrive to the pub and find a spot for our group which invariably (incrementally) grows from the first few arrivals, up to potentially 20.
It seemed a particularly busy night in the pub last week, with the back room taken up by a music gig. But I do know that I was guilty of not really noticing the regulars on the table near my seat, and it led to quite an involved discussion when I would have rather have been chatting to club folk. So I do want to pass this on in the spirit of everyone sipping their beer peacefully together.

    Very well said.
In fairness the ladies had perhaps drunk white wine from the “Aggressa” grape, but we don’t want conflict and the motto “Tread Lightly” can easily be transferred from the mountains to the pub.
I can report that there were perhaps a dozen of York MC last night and the hour passed in complete peace.
