So as previously advertised, the last dance on my card – before my next hand operation – is the weekend of 10th – 11th November.
PLAN A. If the forecast is reasonable, we will head to the Highlands with the object of reducing Steve Green’s outstanding Munro commitments. Now with the exception of a “bike and camp” trip south from Deeside (in the spring/summer time) the outstandings are all towards the west coast. Good job we’re not looking at this coming weekend, then !!

PLAN B If the weather is really pear-shaped, we will once again head to Great Gable to summit before 10.50 and participate in the Remembrance at 11.00.
No doubt the event will be thronged this year as of course it will be the 100 years anniversary since the Armistice itself.

As usual it will be a question of watching the “Weather for the Week Ahead” from Sunday and deciding which way to jump on Wednesday (ish)

So it was “Plan B” on Sunday 11th and the 8 of us attending Great Gable were impressed by the fact that another 2000 or so hillgoers were also willing to stand silent in the pouring rain.
An opportunity has opened up for me to take next weekend 17th/18th so Dolly and I are lined up for a trip to Scotland provided the weather continues to improve. Any more want to climb aboard ?
