ParticipantHi All,
We have booked a the Lancashire Climbing Hut based in Great Langdale near Blea Tarn for 2 nights between the 18th till the 20th of November. The Hut is called The Loft, more details can be found on their website – https://lancsmc.org/lmc/the-loft/
Its the perfect location for a spot of hill walking in the Langdale Pikes and possibly further peaks of Old Man Coniston or Scafell Pike for those who fancy the challenge. There is also Jacks Rake close by for a spot of wet scrambling if that’s your thing…
The hut looks small but comfortable with all the necessary cooking requirements to cook up some evening meals. The Old Dungeon Gill is also in reach for those endeavouring a tipple or two.
The site only has space for 6 vehicles so we will have to do some car sharing so we don’t block up the car parking area. We can fit more cars at the national trust car park at Blea Tarn but the prices of them car parks will cost an arm and a leg.
We have 10 spaces available, 2 have been taken already.
Dave M, Nathan,
Please can you inform me here or via WhatsApp that you are interested in coming so I can confirm availability although your place will be confirmed only after paying the £25 fee for the hut. I’ll update this post when the spaces are filling up.
Thanks Nathan

ModeratorI’m planning on heading over to Langdale on Friday morning. There are many options for a short walk or scrambling before heading to the hut. If anyone’s interested in an early start please get in touch.
On Saturday I’m happy to lead a group of less experienced club members on a shortish non technical walk. Again, there are loads of options in the vicinity of the hut whether up on the fell tops or in the valleys. This is a perfect opportunity for our non-climbing membership to venture forth into the mountaineering environment.
On Sunday I’ll have to leave by midday due to a family commitment. Anyone else needing to get home at that time is welcome to a lift.
