If anyone is interested in some (socially-distanced) bouldering, I’ll be nipping over to Gate House Crag on Tue 21 Jul. For those who have never been, it is a quite exceptional bouldering venue west of Ripon with a large number of problems across a range of grades. Guidance notes and topo are on the Unknown Stones website in the Nidderdale North section. It’s about a 25min slow (and mostly flat) stroll in from the nearest parking.

Work permitting, my plan is to be there for mid- to late-afternoon and then to potter there for as long as it takes my fancy (a couple of hours probably).

    Might see you there.

PS if it’s muggy when you’re there, taking some insect repellent…the midges descended on me in a cloud at the foot of the problems…
