    Hi All

Just a heads up on next weekends trip to the Carlisle hut, places are still available if anyone would like to come along, even for the day.

So ,for those members who have not had the pleasure of staying in a hut / bothy before there are a couple of essentials that you may want to bring with you.

    Sleeping bag / mat
    indoor footwear.
All kitchen cooking utensils are provided but you may want to bring your own mug, plate, kfs.
There is the luxury of an outside flushing WC but you will have to provide your own toilet paper/tissue.
Washing up liquid, black refuse sacks etc.
    Headtorch.
    Food and drink.
The water supply to the hut comes from the stream , its purity is not guaranteed.

Heating is provided via a stove, of which coke is provided, although wood is not ,therefore could I suggest that anyone with a log burner could bring a couple.
    Andrew is providing the axe.

Any questions ,feel free to get in touch,
    Cheers Steve.

    So as to transport,
    (1) it looks as though we will be obliged to take several cars for different reasons. I was wondering if Jenny might travel with Bella and Rowan to save one vehicle ?
    (2) The farmer is apparently wary of poor access behaviour, so needless to say we must make sure we close the gate, park neatly clear of the track, and not leave any outdoor rubbish.
    (3) The hut is at GR 229177 and is marked “Climbing Hut” on map OL4
    (4) The roads are narrow and the few miles from Portinscale to Little Town will likely add 20 minutes to your journey.
    (5) At LittleTown, BE CAREFUL NOT TO TAKE THE FIRST GATE at 234195. The correct gate is 100m further on at 233194 and this gate has FIVE bars. I speak from experience !! I have done my best with some pictures. The track to the hut is driveable slowly with care.

    Hi guys,
Looking forward to the trip! Thanks for the info on parking and stuff to bring, very helpful.
We are happy to take Jenny with us but cannot offer a lift back: we are leaving on Saturday night. We were intending to set off on Friday at 6pm from Scott Street. Jenny – feel free to contact us directly to sort out the arrangements.

Hi, Thanks Rowan, that’s very kind of you. Would I be able to get a lift back with anyone on the Sunday though? Thanks Jenny
