A vital bridge into Knoydart has been closed for the foreseeable future. Many years ago we crossed the River Carnach on a bridge marked “Dangerous” to get from Sourlies bothy to Inverie…… a great trip. In May 2015, Steve G, myself, Ang and Dolly crossed it for the last time.
The bridge is now closed see https://www.mountaineering.scot/news/important-knoydart-bridge-closed
So those who have not yet visited the Rough Bounds of Knoydart may like to mark their Munro books that this route is no longer possible. The only way now is from Kinloch Hourn, or get the ferry.
    A pity

Good article Andrew I have used the bridge on 3 occasions, I am rather surprised and disappointed that planning permission will also be required for a replacement.
