    Hi,

If anyone fancies a stretch of the legs after all the turkey, mince pies and alcohol has been consumed, I will be slowly heading out to Chop Gate on Tuesday 28th December.

The route will is approx 9 miles starting at Chop gate heading up onto Cold Moor before heading along the exposed top towards the hidden Lords Stones Cafe, along the tops heading south before a descent takes you into the valley and back to the car.

Carpark: Chop Gate Village Hall just on the left immediately after the Chop Gate sign if you are heading from the south.

    Departure from Car park: 10am
Length of walk: approx 9 miles

Please bring lots of warm kit and appropriate kit for a winters day on the hills as the tops can get extremely exposed and be cold and windy.

Please abide by the COVID restrictions.

Let me know via whats app or the forum if you are joining.

    Have a great Christmas

Likewise I would be up for a stroll on 28th if I may please get a lift from York ?

BTW I toddled round the opposite side (Urra Moor etc) with a mate about 3 weeks back, and called into the Chop Gate pub afterwards. Strange decoration, but more importantly the worst pint of beer I can remember in a long while. After I sent the first pint back, the replacement wasn’t worth finishing.

There will be better to drink in coming days !

    Seasons greetings
