SpectatorOwing to “Sod’s Law” (as so many of us have been involved in the First Aid course Sat + Sun) there may have been fair conditions over the weekend. However next week looks unstable with a series of fronts to pass through. There may be a weather window on Tuesday night, but possibly not firm enough to justify the commitment. An option being considered last Thursday is to walk next Saturday night, sleep, then go to the commemoration on Great Gable on Sunday morning.
I’ll be keeping eyes on the weather with this in mind

SpectatorAs I shall have a post-operative hand I shall be unable to undertake any further Water Activities such as last time.

SpectatorIt would definitely be nice this year to arrive somewhat earlier than last year’s 10.55 am so I’d hope to work out times a bit better. The corollary being to bring a shelter and duvet jackets to wait in.
Some info from my posts in previous years below

A plaque on the summit commemorates members of the Fell & Rock Climbing Club who died in World War I; a 2 minutes silence is held here on Remembrance Sunday. The club bought 3,000 acres of land including Great Gable and donated it to the National Trust in memory of these members, and the plaque was dedicated on Whit Sunday 1924 by Geoffrey Winthrop Young in front of 500 people.Andrew

SpectatorA fine night is most desirable — doesn’t have to be at the Full moon… could be a quite number of days either side. The checking of full moon dates just gives a starting point for some ideas.
For me, my hand operation is 27th November so I shall be hors de combat in December.
