    Not that many of us get there very often (although Mr Harrington is a well-known past customer) but just for info, news has come to me that Huddersfield Wall closed suddenly without notice about 2 weeks back.
    (This is the modern one in the sports centre…. not the old one where we once exchanged angry letters……..)

    This is a real shame, its owned by John Dunnes company who also own Harrogate Manchester and Reading

    A friend from Huddersfield told me that there was talk of a climbers co-op potentially getting started to look into running it, as Kirklees Council don’t have the climbing skills/experience to run it. The company mentioned above apparently exercised the 3 year get out clause in the contract for whatever reason.

    It’s a fantastic facility and surely can’t be left closed permanently.
