It’s been great to see so many members getting out and active over the summer. Trips to Wales and the Lake district in the last week as well as local days out have kept the WhatsApp group buzzing.

Tuesday is looking like indoors might be best so I’ll be at the Red Goat at about 5pm. Probably having a pizza afterwards if anyone else is interested.

Thursday club climbing is looking good for Scugdale. I can get there early but will have to leave early due to a Friday morning commitment. I understand that Sam K will be in the area so it’ll be brilliant to catch up with him. The Black Horse in Swainby is a good venue after climbing.

The trip to Wales on the 5th-7th of September is well supported but if anyone else wants to come along please get in touch with Emma asap. There may be another space or two available but we have to pay for the hut within a couple of days.

The First Aid Course is also well supported so far. We need a minimum of seven members to go ahead with the course and have a maximum limit of 12. The course is aimed at first aid in the outdoors environment but the latest information on how to help in an emergency could be applicable to anywhere. I strongly recommend that every club member keeps up to date with their first aid knowledge. If you’re interested in joining the course please check the forum post https://www.yorkmc.org.uk/topic/first-aid-2025/ and get in touch as soon as possible. Provided we have seven or more club members we will open the course to other individuals if there are any spare places. The date, instructor and venue need to be confirmed.

Bank holiday weekend is coming up so Monday is an extra bonus day to get out and do stuff. Feel free to get in touch here or on WhatsApp if you have any plans you’d like to share. The weather forecast looks very promising for just about everywhere.

    Cheers!
