The Scottish Mountain Heritage Collection started by the well-known Lochaber Guide, Mick Tighe UIAGM, will be on display 1st to 15th October in Glen Roy. (As part of a Highland Archaeology (!) Festival http://www.highlandarchaeologyfestival.org/ ). I suppose its unlikely any of us will be there in the daytime, but just on the off chance of a rainy day……..
Some individual memories for me in this. I called at Mick’s house one evening nigh 20 years ago (October 1996) for personal reasons and over a couple of whiskies, I tried on one of the oxygen sets used on the Everest First Ascent, and held Harold Raeburn’s altimeter.
