Conditions in Scotland look simply appalling for Saturday, as this winter gets off to a re-run of last year.
Accordingly a few of us are thinking of a day in the Lakes on Sunday. Details to be decided.
    Alas.

So after some discussion last night, our plan now is to choose some lower-lying hills, not scrambling, as the weather looks to be boisterous.
The hills south of Castlerigg stone circle at Keswick, between Derwentwater and Thirlmere, is below 600 metres and contains Bleaberry Fell 1932 ft, High Seat 1995, High Tove 1665 ft, Armboth Fell 1570 ft. So out come the Wainwrights book and using 2 cars we may well make an end to end traverse.
