I haven’t been to Slipstones for quite some time (my log book tells me it was May 2010 in fact) and Stefan has a record of going to a different crag every week with YMC this year.
Loch has a dental appointment, so those of us who are getting long in the tooth will be free to leave somewhat after 3 pm. So that’s my proposal, and I think with any wind from the NW, the SW aspect will be OK. Anyway, chew on it.
If the roads are not gummed up, its not a bad journey.
To improve upon the RV for last week’s totally idyllic trip to Bull Scar, I’ll put directions below
    ANDREW
Slipstones at 138821 OS 99. Drive to Masham (A1 / B6267) and take minor road west via Fearby and Healey. 0.6 miles west of Healey take a left fork then after 2 miles park up and walk up track on to moor 20 mins.

Given the time constraints suffered by some of us, “YMC Youth Section” (… well, me and Dave) are meeting at the Fox at 16.45 and will more than likely head to Almscliff for some polished, gritty, familiar fun. We are picking up Simon (another hip youngster) on the way but would have room potentially for more in my car…

    Alas for yoof !!
I should mention, tho’ that I think most of my visits to Slipstones were made after work when I used to do that sort of thing.
My road map and bendy wire think that York to Slipstones is about 3 miles less than York to Scugdale.
I will see what the car records…… and report in t’Fox

I do hope you have a good climb. I’ll be thinking about dun kissed rock from the traffic jam I will be in on the M42/M5 on the way to S Wales. See you all next week / weekend. Tenko

And doubtless I’ll also be thinking about dun kissed rock and beautiful views from the M1 elongated car park…

    Have fun!

    Aaron.
