Lagangarbh Hut, Glencoe Trip, March 2007

Just back from a fantastic trip to Glencoe, our accommodation was the Lagangarbh hut. Teams left York from Wednesday onwards with varying objectives. Mine was to go up on Friday, climb the 'Buccle' Saturday and have an easy day Sunday. This is just what I did.

At 8:50:59 AM (roughly) a team of eight people  left the Lagangarbh Hut and headed up Corie na Tulaich on our way up to the first peak of Buachaille Etive Mor, Stob Dearg (1,022m). Our team was Andy, Beth, Duncan, Laura, Tracey, Steph, Dave and I.

We enjoyed the most fantastic weather and views all day! The pictures just say it all!

From Stob Dearg we meandered Westwards to pick up the main ridge of Buachaille Etive Mor, then Southwest, over Stob na Doire and Stob Coire Altruim to the summit of Stob na Broige (956m), this being the second and final Munro of our day.

In this photo Andy is clearly pictured keeping a eye out for "Rockinbag" Bandits, that were later to commit a henious crime against our dear secretary, Tracey!

Later we randomly bumped into Stuart, another Yorki and past YMC member......... bag.... rock..... Stuart.... nar.... could not be!

View of Stob Dearg and Stob na Doire from Stob na Broige.

After soaking up the sun on the last summit we headed back along the ridge then down to the Lairig Gartain and a steady 3km walk back to the hut.

That day Kirsty, Fiona, Howard and Blandy had a wicked day on the Anach Eagach, same weather and similar views. Their day ended with a rescue of a girl with a broken ankle, good work gang!

Earlier in the week Stuart (our Stuart, not the rock bandit!) and Brian had exciting day out up NC gully in Coire nan Lochan!

Lots, lots more got done, sorry if I have missed out you and your adventure, drop me a few lines and a photo and I will add it to this report.

Sunday: The gang above, took a walk down the cost to rekky some crags, they are, from left, Howard, Flock, Brian, Tenk, Dora, Dave, and Macka.

Mean wile we had an equally steady day, lunching in view of the hidden valley, that was Tracey, Laura, Duncan, Beth, Beth's brother and girl, Steph and myself!

Well, that it from this years big summer like winter weekend, just the road to hit................ Jack!!

Big love,

Simon xx
